Grandma's Birthday Cake

The grandkids decorated a delicious cake for Grandma Stewie! They enjoyed singing Happy Birthday to her too! We had such a fun trip and will enjoy these memories forever!

Lucy and Sadie keeping themselves entertained in the airport! We had races and obstacle courses in between plenty of trips to the bathroom!

Here are my girls on the airplane! They both slept so nicely on the way home! YEAH! What a way to end the trip!

Odds and Ends

Would you believe that I am ALMOST done with posting pictures from our trip! I am so far behind. I have so much to post from being home too! And then Halloween! Hello! I need to get with it! But here are just a few little pictures of just hanging out and having fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house! We had fun!

Okay, can I just say I LOVE this picture and I am so jealous...not only for the picture but of the moment! I got Lucy up from her nap and had to do something so Cyndi wanted to cuddle her and Lucy just layed there cheek to cheek with Cyndi for seriously like 15 to 20 minutes! How stinkin cute is that!?!

Grandma playing Duck Duck Goose with the grandkids! They were having so much fun! Grandma was having the sit on the squares in the rug and she said for Shane to sit in "this square." and Shane said, "Grandma, that's a rectangle." What a smarty! It was too cute! (excuse the pigs on the TV, Lucy was SO into the movie "Barbie as the Island Princess" while we were down there. The boys were so patient because seriously that thing was on the tv if we were at the house!)

Trevor joined in on the fun! This picture makes me laugh because Sadie has this smirk on her face while she is sticking her tongue out at Shane! So funny.

Pumpkin Patch

We drove to Morpark to this cool pumpkin patch! It was huge and had so much to do! So we played around for hours, had lunch and then finally went to take pictures with all the pumpkins! We have learned that we need to take the pictures first. 1) Kids are tired and cranky from the long day of fun, and 2) Kids look like white trash from the long day of fun!
They had fun feeding all the animals! Lucy LOVES to feed the animals! She was not timid at all!
First pony ride ever, and boy did they LOVE it! They could not stop smiling! Thanks Grandma!
How cute is that!?! Lucy playing on a wooden choo choo train.
Aunt Cyndi and Lucy playing while the big kids are driving tractors.

Sadie, Allie and Aunt Tara driving the tractors. They had so much fun! Sadie was driving all over the place!

I LOVE Shane's face in this one! He looks to cute! He's really gettin' into the tractor driving!
Okay, here are the white trash pictures! Sadie had a red Gatorade with her lunch, so that explains the pretty lips! And Lucy, well she is 20 months! Enough said. They had the BEST grilled corn on the cob! When we were all done with our lunch we had a HUGE pile of the cobs! It was hilarious! We had to go back for seconds!

As we were trying to get the kids to all get in the same spot for a picture, we told them there were special pieces of hay in this certain area and if they found one they could get a snow cone! Sadie "found" the first one...and look at the disappointment on his face!

But we told him there were more, and what do you know, he found one too! YEAH!

The final product! What a BEAUTY! ;)

Train ride to/and adventures in Santa Barbara

On my Mom's actual BIRTHDAY we took the train to Santa Barbara! We did this with my Mom's parents when we were little and she has been excited to carry on the tradition. It was so much fun! It is a beautiful ride just along the coast and is the perfect length! So the kids get the fun adventure of riding the train but it isn't too long so they don't get bored. When we got to Santa Barbara we rented some surrey bikes and drove them all along the beach. We stopped for a little snack on the beach and chased the crazy seagulls. After getting lost a few times and after to turn around in parking lots and off-roading in the grass and through bushes we made it to the carousel. It was fun! Then we found a fun park that they played at for a little while and then after riding around for 2 hours, it was time to head back to turn in our bikes. We had some lunch and then it was time to catch our train back home! We had lots of adventures!

Are we excited or what!?! Here is Lucy and Sadie (holding our tickets) at the train station waiting for the train.

Sadie by the train tracks. (side story: we were here at least a half an hour before just waiting for the train and taking pictures of course. There was this spot that had the fence in front of it and then down past the train station building there was no fence, so we waited here for safety purposes. Then all the sudden the train came and they ticket lady was like "you guys need to get down there, they only stop for 1 minute!" So here we are with 5 kids booking it down to where they stopped forever away and lugging three strollers! Then we have to get everyone on and all our stuff and the conductor guys were just standing there telling us to hurry up! Didn't offer to help at all! Of course Tricia got a little feisty back to them! We couldn't believe it! It would have been helpful to know where to go! and to have a little help. Crazy! Then on the way back they did the same thing at a lady all by herself with a baby and had luggage, a stroller, and a car seat and they were just yelling at her to hurry!)

Trevor and Lucy looking at the tracks. They were a little nervous when the train pulled up!

Lucy having fun waiting for the train!

Sadie LOVED looking out at the ocean when we were in the train!

Lucy having a snack on the train.

All the kids anxiously waiting for their turn on the carousel.

Lucy loving the horses.

Sadie on the pink horse!

Sadie and Allie having so much fun on their pretty pink horses!

Marina Park

Okay, so growing up here you don't appreciate the fact that you get to play at a park and enjoy the beautiful ocean right behind you! I always loved playing here when I was little (they didn't have the playground they have now but...) they have this huge pirate boat to play on and a zip line that goes from the top of the boat down to the sand. It was always so much fun. There was like a church group there with a TON of kids when we were here so the kids didn't want to try the zip line (Allie did though, but she had done it before with Mommy and Daddy). Aunt Cyndi couldn't come until this day so she met us here and surprised Mom. Mom screamed and cried (again!) and it was fun! So now we were all together! YEAH!

Tricia and Shane playing!

Sadie had so much fun on this swing because the squishy flooring was so close to it. She saw some kid on it and waited so patiently to have a turn and then she was on it for a LONG time! She was getting pretty tricky!

Mom and Sadie playing on the swings together. They were having SO much fun! Sadie was just belly laughing with Grandma! They were bonking into eachother and Grandma would give her kisses. Too cute!

Aaawwwww! Cousins, Trevor and Sadie. They ran into eachother on the slide and turned it into a cute moment. What cute kids! Ü

Cute girls swinging with a wonderful view of the ocean!

Save the best for last...I LOVE this picture! Sadie was having so much fun with Grandma and you can see it in both of their faces! Too cute! (except for the fact that my hair lady was telling me I need to train Sadie's hair to part on the other side and when I do that it just ends up in her face!) We had a fun time at the beach/park!

Beach FUN!

Okay, so you would not know this from reading my blog, but we just got back from CA visiting my parents. My sisters and I have been planning a surprise trip for my Mom's birthday (I know, we are the best daughters EVER!). It has been killing us as we reply on blogs and stuff to not mention it! Anyway, we pulled it off! She had a horrible day at work and when she got home we were called (we were waiting at my Sister's in-laws) and we headed over. She opened the door, and after an (abnormally) long pause she screamed and burst into tears! Which made most of the grandkids do the same! It was so much fun! We had SUCH a great visit. We planned the whole trip around what my Mom has always wanted to do with the grandkids/kids all together. I need to mention my Mom has this magic bag and whenever she comes to visit, every morning the kids look into the magic bag and "magically" something fun is always in there! So we turned the tables and had something in there for her every morning to give her clues about what we were going to be doing for the day! She said she could not sleep the whole weekend because she would wake up wondering what we were going to be doing! So the first day we went out to breakfast (we couldn't do the place we normally go to because they don't serve breakfast during the weekdays - we did not know that) so whenever we go there my Mom wants to go for a walk on the beach (some usually poo poo the idea because they don't want to get sandy or whatever - but this time we all went). It turned into playing on the playground by the beach, but hey (I will post pics of that later). Then we took a train ride up to Santa Barbara (we did this with MY Grandma and Grandpa when we were little) and then we rented some surry bikes and rode all along the beach there. We stopped at a playground (of course) and a carosel as well. It was a blast! We caught the train home (without the help from the rude train conductors!). Then the next day we went to this huge pumpkin patch! The kids road ponies, drove tractors, fed animals, went on hay rides, had TONS of grilled corn on the cob and made it through the maze...yes you heard me, we made it through this one! We had our doubts but we did make it through! Grandpa graciously volunteered to watch all the kids so Mom and girls could go out to our FAVORITE resteraunt (the Aloha - on the pramenade). We had such a fun time. In between all of this we did crafts, shopped, took TONS of PICTURES, played games (with the best miamaid/nursery teacher ever!), roasted hot dogs and made smores out back and just about everything you could think of! We had the best weekend ever! I will be posting more pictures but wanted to start with these!
Absolutely hilarious! This is how it is when we are trying to take pictures. This is the only one with Allie in it so it has to work! They were all having so much fun running around, it was hard to get any pictures.
Sorry, I couldn't pass up these cute little bottoms!

She had so much fun! She loved how the wave came up and she squated a little to keep her balance and then when the wave went back the wave won and she fell. Ü

She loved hearing her feet patter on the wet sand!

Our little LifeGuards!

I love the backlighting in this pic! A little pug came up and was jumping up on her while her feet were stuck in the sand and it scratched her legs a little and from then on she was done because the salt water was making the scratches sting! Poor thing. So we got cozy in her clothes.
