Tea Time!

Saturday we had Sadie's (much anticipated) Birthday Party! She has been so excited and has been asking every day if "when we wake up it is going to be her party." We did a "Mad Hatters Tea Party" this year and it was so much fun! My wonderful friend Rachel made the "eat me" sugar cookies, since I can't bake too well, and they turned out perfect! Out front we had a bunch of different signs (which I did not get a picture of...sorry) saying, "this way" "back up" "over here" "wrong way" etc. When they came in they had to take a bite of the cookie and then crawl through the "rabbit hole." Here is Sadie coming out of the rabbit hole! (She loved telling everyone what they needed to do!
For the most part, the party was in our back yard...which was nice. The weather was hot of course but not too bad and there was a nice wind, which I was nervous about, but it was nice!

While we waited for everyone to come, they each got to decorate a hat. The boys decorated top hats with patches and buttons, and the girls decorated these bonnets with flowers and buttons! They had fun and some turned out really cute!

Then we got to have Kiwi this princess come and paint every one's face! If you remember a few months back when I posted pictures of Sadie's face painting done at a friend's party...I got the same girl...she is AMAZING! They all had so much fun! She even brought fairy wings for the girls to play with! Sadie got to be first since it was her birthday. She would ask them their favorite colors and if they had anything in mind that they wanted. Each of them definitely had colors in mind!

Everyone was so patient and really enjoyed watching each other get their face painted! Then they LOVED running back and forth to the bathroom with each other to look and see how pretty they were! Too cute!

How cute is that!?!

Janae is too cute!!
Ellie came up to me and said, "Do you want to go look in the mirror with me!?!" Then later she said, "Do you love my face?" She is so cute and so sweet!
Evka wasn't totally finished yet, she hadn't done the flowers and glitter, but I love her expression in this picture! She is so cute! Sadie and Evka have been friends since they were tiny babies! They have so much fun together! We would even do sleep overs when they were like under 3 years old! They loved it, but the next day...grouchy! So we haven't done one for a while!
Lucy sat so still, I was so proud! She LOVED how pretty she looked and to be a part of all the big girl fun!
Colton got Spiderman! At first he wasn't too into getting his face painted but when he found out she could do Spiderman, he was game!
After they got their faces painted and finished looking at themselves in the mirror, they went outside and were "making tea." They were putting the confetti from the table in the tea pots and tea cups and stirring it around! They were having SO MUCH FUN! It was so cute!
Then it was time to bring on the food and drinks and actually have the tea party! It was so cute to watch them all do their own thing! (side note: I bought this pasta at the store that was $9 for one little box but it was too cute. It was pink and green and yellow striped bow tie! So I made a pasta salad with it that morning and totally forgot about it in the fridge! UGH! Oh well!)
So I made this outfit (well embellished) for Sadie's party. Of course she had to wear her jacket over it! Even in the 95 degree weather! She is just too funny! I had her strike a pose for me so we could actually get a picture of it! Sheesh! There is a tea cup on her hip that you can't see but whatever! And that headband, I didn't even notice she was wearing it until I started looking at the pictures. I planned on making a matching headband but never did. But she has plenty of other ones that would have looked cuter than grey! She has been SO into headbands lately! At least she is only wearing one! She normally has at least 3 on at one time! She is so funny!
They each got their own mini cakes! It was so cute and fun! They loved it!
Sadie got a "Topsy-Turvy" cake on a Topsy-Turvy stand! It was to windy to even blow out the candles! We really tried but we couldn't even light them!
Princess Kiwi made Sadie this cute balloon ballerina! It is so cute! And then each of the kids got a balloon princess wand/sword! :)
After tea, we played some games. They played toss the sugar cubes into the teapot and when they did they got a "singing" flower. Then they played flamingo croquet with hedgehogs! They had fun with it!
I LOVE these pictures of the girls with our babysitter Bekah! We absolutely LOVE Bekah at our house! She is seriously the best! She always comes to the girls parties and is such a help and so cute! We adore her and don't ever want her to grow up! :)
Sadie had so much fun opening presents, but it was over in seriously 5 minutes. My mistake I just kind of sat back and let the kids have fun with it, so I don't really know who gave her what! They were excited about it and I think everyone just kind of helped her open their own present, because they wanted to show her! The first two I saw and then it was craziness!
It was such a fun party and we were so glad so many people could come! They all had a blast! Sadie, we absolutely love you and love all that you bring into our lives! You are so full of energy and excitement! Just today we were playing out front and a pizza guy brought out neighbors some pizza and she was so excited about it! She said, "I Love pizza guys, they are so much fun!!" It was too cute! Every night she asks me what we are going to do when we wake up, so I tell her and after each activity she says, "and then what?" She never stops going, it amazes me! I love how sweet she is with Lucy! They are such sweet sisters together! I love June 27th because that was the day our sweet little Sadie came to join us and completely brighten our lives! We love you sweet pea!

Birthday Adventures

Friday was Sadie's 4th Birthday!! Yeah! We had such a great time. I wanted to post a little "Happy Birthday" message but I had NO time as I was going crazy doing last minute party details. So here are ALL of our adventures!! We started the morning off early and I decided to take over MY Dad's roll of making the pancakes with our name in them. (I switched it up and instead of using chocolate syrup to color the batter I used pink food coloring - girly!) It was fun but I messed up the first one because I forgot you have to write it backwards! A little tricky, but I did it! She really enjoyed it! Plus, they had some birthday cake for breakfast too! They were so messy even before 8:30am!

After we went to the gym we got all cleaned up (again for Lucy!) and went and saw the new Disney movie Wall E! We have been SO excited to see this! Sadie thought she was extra special because NO ONE could see it until HER Birthday! So we went to this cool movie theater that serves food! It is called Alamo Drafthouse! It is Chris' favorite! Dinner and a movie in one! We had some friends the Motts and the Bates come with us, so it was a blast. Although Sadie kept getting refills on her Root Beer so we made like 4 trips to the bathroom! We all really enjoyed the movie! It was great fun! They are already requesting to go see it again and get chips with cheese and popcorn! (They did not touch their hot dog I ordered for them!) Lucy woke up from her nap totally talking about parts of the movie. I was impressed with how much she remembered. It was so cute! I think she kept having dreams about it, because for the next for days she would talk about it right when she woke up. Cute!
We opened a few presents after bath time. Some of the ones from Chris and I we had to wait on because I did not want her to want to wear them to her party, (red cheer leading outfit -as requested, and some new flower hats that she is ALWAYS wearing!)
We always call the girls "Monchichi" and so we ordered them each one. (Lucy lucked out!) But they loved them!
Sadie was totally laughing at Lucy's face in this picture so I have to add it! They are always SO silly after bath time!
They are loving this car from Grandma and Grandpa Stewie. Lucy was totally getting in the way of all my pictures because she was so excited about it! They love to have me control it and try to get them with the car! So exciting! It was a very fun day! We got to go out to dinner and have ice cream with Daddy too!

Summer Time and Nastolgia

This morning as I was trying to get some more editing done, I went to check on the girls and this is what I found out the kitchen window. They were so relaxed, just slowly swinging while they were eating their Popsicles! It just reminded me of summer so I had to take a few pictures. They looked too cute being a typical summer time kid! They are definitely enjoying the Popsicles during the summer heat! I bought one of those bulk bags on Friday and it is already gone! They go through them so quickly! But hey, they are so refreshing and delicious! The only trick is to try to get them to eat something else, and to try to eat them before they melt!! I love how it takes so much focus for them to eat that tail end of the Popsicle! So difficult to eat it without letting it drop! Then they come in the house so sticky and colorful and smelling like cute little summertime kids! I LOVE it! (Well, the stickiness...not so much!)
This picture is for Mom. As I was looking through boxes to find the tea cup from my Granny, to take Sadie's birthday invitation picture with, I found some of my old clothes and had to pull some out for the girls. It is just too fun! I soaked them in OxyClean and they don't look too bad. So here is Lucy in my old preschool shirt! Kinderland kids, who are they? The best darn kids in the USA! How to...

I had a few requests on how I made the flowers. *Mind you, I cannot take credit for these, as I got the idea from Tricia!*
But I just went to the scrapbook store and found some chip board flowers.
Then I painted the chip board flowers red.
Trace and cut out the shapes of the flowers from fun paper.
Mod Podge the paper to the chip board.
Print out little 1 inch close up pictures and punch out with a circle whole puncher that is the appropriate size. (I also printed out the words and punched those out the same.)
Then attach with a foam sticky so they stand up a little.
I think Tricia glued them onto pens or pencils or something. But I had some wire so I used that because I know Chris would NOT use the pens! Plus I wanted them to be bendable. So I bent the top of the wire into a little swirl (so it had some kind of a surface) and then just glue gunned them to the flower.
Then cut out little leaves from felt leaving a little bit of a "stem" and then wrap the wire with floral tape. Putting the leaves in appropriate spots and then walla, you have a cute arrangement!

I hope this helps! If you make one, post it, so we can see how cute it turns out! I LOVE Jodi's idea of making one for the table! Adorable flowers that will never die!!

Father's are FUN!

We had such a fun Father's Day yesterday! The girls were so excited about it! When I talked to them about what we should do for Daddy, Sadie said she wanted to make Daddy some flowers! Thank goodness Tricia just made the cutest ones for Shane's teacher, so I asked her how she did it and just made them a little more manly. The girls had lots of fun helping me make them! And they even turned out cute! Then we also picked out tons of candy for a candy gram for Daddy. They LOVED picking out all the candy and couldn't help picking some out for themselves. I had to get a little extra creative with some of the picks! It was tough, but it worked! We are so glad we have such a great Daddy! We love you so much and love all the fun times you bring to our lives!
Sadie did so good singing to Daddy at church! They sang "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home" and "Love is Spoken Here." It was really cute! After the sacrament Sadie wanted more bread and I told her we only get one. And she said, "Did Jesus run out of bread?" It was too funny! Silly girl! After church we ALL got to take a nap! It was so nice! Then me and the girls got up and BBQ'd some yummy steaks! I must say they were delicious! Then we played outside and then danced around inside! It was a great Father's Day! Happy Father's Day to all you Daddy's out there!

NOT a Happy Little Dancer

I will be MIA for the next little bit because this week I have been and still am doing the dance pictures at the wonderful MA Dance Project (www.madanceproject.com )! I have been anxiously waiting for this week and am very happy with how well it is going. We are doing it different from last year and it is working out great! Last year we did ALL the pictures on a Saturday and Sunday. This year we are just doing it during the week when they normally have their dance class. It's not so crazy hectic! Plus I am getting more orders because everyone shows up! Anyway, Lucy took her pictures yesterday and she was SO excited about it! As we were driving there she kept saying "MY dance pictures!" She has seen Sadie's and was excited to get hers and get to wear her costume! But when she came in for pictures, this is what I got to work with!
They are always so much more difficult when they are your own! But I am not disappointed at all! I love pictures because they catch the moment. And this definitely caught that moment. Then she calmed down a bit and just has the cutest pouty face! So I LOVE them!

Then after they were done and ready to go run through their dance, she was totally stopped crying! Silly girl! Sadie's pictures are today...hopefully she will enjoy it a little more!
