Pumpkin Patch

We had the funnest day today! We started off by going to the Pumpkin Patch. As you can see we had SO much fun! It was a hot day (still - as you can tell by our red faces!) I had a hard time trying to find a fall-type outfit for the girls instead of all the summerie tank tops and shorts. We couldn't be in long sleeves and pants either. The first thing we did at the pumpkin patch was go through the corn field "kid" maze. We got lost and kept going in circles! We would each try going different ways and just bump into eachother. Finally after about 20 minutes, we gave up and went back to the start! The fun was over! Then we went and had a picnic. Lucy was more concerned about feeding the goats and chasing the chickens than she was about eatting. I called her back over to eat, she came and I offered her some of her sandwhich. She got all excited about it, took a triangle of it and was off again. I cleaned up lunch and went over to the girls by the goats and I see a triangle of a sandwhich in the goat pen. She was so excited because she knew exactly what she was going to do with it! She is so funny. Then we walked down and fed the horses and donkeys. Lucy is so funny because she just LOVES animals! The other kids will be a little bit squeemish about them and she will be squeeling and dancing. She is just so comfortable around them. It is cute. Then in between chasing chickens, we went on a fun hay ride. It was a little too long for my taste, especially in the heat, but it was fun. We got to walk through a tunnel under the street so the kids loved that. Then we sat in the hot sun and painted some pumpkins. Everyone was so messy by the time they were done and all of us were running out of wipes. Lyndsee and I each had only one wipe per child to clean up after the painting. It was funny. And THEN we were on to getting ice cream! We needed something to cool us down! They had REALLY yummy homemade icecream and popsicles! YUM! Then we came home and BOTH girls took a nap! Yes, Sadie slept for almost 3 hours! I was pooped but had to get some work done. Then Daddy came home and we went to Chuck E Cheese! I know, crazy fun day! After those long and late naps we needed to do something fun and exciting to get the girls tired! I don't have any pictures at Chuck E Cheese but tons from the pumpkin patch! We had a fun day and everyone is sleeping except me. I am going to change that in just a few minutes! Good night all!

The exciting beginning, where do we go?!?!

Water break! Sadie and Evka being silly. This picture made me laugh because Evka looks too cute and then Sadie's all crazy lookin'.

We are all trying our own ways!

Sadie, hot and tired after the maze!

Not the cutest picture but it is so difficult to get one of them together!

Lucy at work hauling some pumpkins!

Lucy and Sadie feeding the horses.Playing with the goats!

The hay ride. Lucy wasn't too happy about sitting on the hay. I noticed when we got home and I was changing her diaper that it scratched her legs a little. OH SAD!

We're goin' to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!

A friend from our ward recently had quintuplets, yes five, and they have 2 older kids as well. Her oldest is in school but their 2nd is not yet. So we signed up to take her on a little playdate so we decided to go to the zoo! We had tons of fun. We also invited our friends Evka and Averee to come along! We had lots of fun together. It was a warm day, of course, but not too bad! We got to feed lots of animals and see some big ones as well. They had all kinds of monkeys and we were excited to see some of them were Marmasets like on Diego! The black bear was swimming and splashing around. It was fun. Last time we were there, the tiger was swimming and playing. The Austin Zoo is really small. It is funny. But then it is crazy because the big huge animals are just behind a chain-link fence. Then there is about 3 feet of space and a rope so you can't go right up to the fence but if you leaned over you could! So it's a little S-C-A-R-Y. But then cool because you are so close to these beautiful HUGE animals! Right when we got there Sadie told the girls to be "CAREFUL of the PEACOCKS!" Last time we went she had a little trauma because peacocks just rome around the zoo and she was wondering off without Mommy a little ways. Then these 2 peacocks came running down the path, (one chasing the other) and Sadie thought they were coming after her! She screamed for me and came running toward me, while I was trying to take a picture of Lucy by the Bears. The peacocks ran right to us and jumped up in the tree that was right above us. It was a little crazy. Then at lunch Sadie went over to wash her hands by the bathrooms and a peacock was hanging out on the overhang thing over the sinks and as she was turning around to come back it jumped down right by her! Trauma! It was sad but funny! Anyway, that was our last trip! Here are pictures from THIS trip of the girls on the train.

and...Lucy was done!

Feeding the deer.
This deer got a little more than he bargained for (he at the paper and everything!)
Lucy wasn't too happy about that!

All in all it was a fun trip! Everyone was pooped and hungry by the time we were done! We accomplished our goal! Have fun and get the kids tired!

Enrichment Back to School Night

We had a great time at Enrichment this past month! We did a back to school night (like Tricia's ward Ü) with different classes. We started off with recess (we had different getting to know you questions written on different squares of a soccerball and would toss it from person to person and you had to answer the question that was facing you).
Then we had "lunch" with a cafeteria style dinner. Notice the fun plates and the cute hair nets!
Then we broke off into classes. We had MY class which was writing (keeping a personal history)...of course I dressed the part with glasses on the tip of my nose, my hair in a bun and a black skirt with a blouse and cardigan and of course hum-drum shoes. And I had my yard stick to whack on the table when things were out of control (if only I could bring that to my primary class!) It went well. But we did it in 2 rounds and the first period, they rang the bell so early, I hardly got to half my lesson. So the second time around I rushed through it, which went better. We finished off with writing letters to missionaries who are serving from our ward. The other classes were arts and craft and PE - Pilates. It was a fun night. We had lots of fun!
Wow! A whole post without either of my girls or me or Chris! What to do!?!

Duck Feast!

It's so crazy how much bread these ducks get fed! Sadie just chucks out whole slices of bread! We had a fun time. Lucy was LOVING it! She just stood there with that same loaf of bread and threw some and ate some for the entire time. It never really lasts that long though. (Especially with Sadie throwing one slice at a time). Here are some fun pics of the girls!

A Favorite

When we visited Chris' parents last November Grandma Christy read this book to Sadie and she LOVED it! She would have her read it to her over and over again. I finally ordered it for her and she can not leave it alone! She has to have it in her backpack and bring her backpack with her everywhere. I will hear her in the morning "reading" this book to her "friends." She will say, "Colton, Evka, sit down and I will read this to you." She LOVES it! This was today after feeding the ducks and having a picnic with friends. She actually got to read it to her friends instead of pretending! But then Lucy came over with her pretzels and everyone got distracted and was eatting pretzels! So easily distracted!

It's Official!

I am a true Mormon Mommy! I felt so official as I went down to the San Antonino Cannery and did some canning with the ward! It was tons 'O' fun! I have been SO intimidated and confused with the whole food storage business that I have completely avoided it. Now that it isn't just Chris and I it makes me a little nervous. We could be starving and miserable for while, but the girls...that's another story! So I figured we could start being responsible, at least a little. It's a start! Chris stayed home with the girls ALL Saturday and was a REAL help! They had fun together. Oh, Sadie and Chris took a nap in our guest bedroom together and Sadie was so worried that Daddy would get Grandpa Stewie's side of the bed dirty! It was a funny story! She even piped in as Chris was telling it to me! But don't worry, it is clean and we will definitely clean the bedding before our next guest comes (Grandpa Bob and Grandma Christy! Ü) because Missy ALWAYS lays on that bed...stinky! Anyway, here are some fun pictures of us in our get-up and using our muscles! It was a very efficient and quick trip! Yeah Krissy for keeping it so organized! After packing the Hot Cocoa we had to stop on the way home for a little sweet treat! (It smelled SO good!) Me and Sheila looking so spiffy! (You had to wear the apron when operating the sealer thing in case grease splattered - So I am a little more decorated!)

Look at all those beautiful cans! (and those straight labels!Ü)

Juli and Sheila, a little shocked that I am actually busting out my camera! But at least they played, right!

Juli operating some heavy machinery.

The assembly line! I got the easy job of putting the oxygen packets in the cans and then setting the lid on top! But I did relieve Juli for a while on the sealing machine. We had a fun time! (Tricia I am wearing that new layers shirt. It is cute but see how it looks like a maternity shirt. You don't want people guessing!)

Bowling fun!

We took the cue from some friends and took the girls bowling tonight. It was loads of fun. Our babysitter couldn't babysit and I had been gone all day (at the cannery - I will post pics later - I left my camera in my friends purse) so we decided to have a fun night out as a family. So we went to Pei Wei and got "noodles" for the girls (their favorite) and then went bowling. They loved it. They have 6 lb balls so they could both carry them over but Lucy would just drop it! So we found a little ramp thing that they could just push it down! It made the balls go faster too! Sadie's were getting pretty slow on some, so this was better. It was cool because when you enter in your name and stuff you just pick who wants to play bumper bowling and who doesn't. So when it was their turn the rails would just pop up and then pop down when they were done.

Lucy loved watching for the ball to pop out. No matter how long she stood there looking, everytime one popped out she would jump! It was cute!

Lucy was a little nervous about all the people and the fact that they turned the lights down so it glowed! Anyway, she warmed up after a little bit and loved when it was her turn!

The final scores:

Lanae = 110

Lucy = 94

Chris = 88

Sadie = 71
