DRAMA!!!!

Okay, so Sadie has turned into a teenager over night! For the past 6 months or so she has been into picking out her own clothes. I understand that kids need to be able to make choices on their own, so as hard as it is for me to let go of that...I let her have that freedom. Anyways, there have been MANY arguments/fits about outfit choices lately. All summer she would only wear tank tops and stretchy shorts. And when I say tank tops I mean cheesie ribbed wife beater looking ones. I would buy cute tank tops for thinking that would work but she never wanted those ones. Her new thing is, if it shows her armpits, it is no good. And then she will raise her arms and stretch her torso up and feel if it shows her tummy! If it does, we change the outfit! Then she noticed that I will layer my shirts so she wanted to wear "undershirts." But lately it has turned into wearing 4 or 5 undershirts!!! And shirts over dresses and none of them matching! I would try to monitor it but also tried to give her her freedom! Which was very embarrassing at times! Then she wants to change her clothes multiple times a day so she would go through SO many shirts in a day! And she refuses to wear pajamas to bed. She has to wear clothes. Then she will wake up and "get dressed" into a new outfit! Anyway, her tantrums about this have been happening more frequently as I have been trying to teach her that that was not how we do it, and yesterday it escalated! And I was done with it! So here are the results! NO CLOTHES in her room except for panties and socks and Jammies (which she hates but now has to wear!). She now gets to choose between 2 outfits and does not get to change during the day! We had a little melt down this morning and then she was okay, but then there was a bigger one this afternoon when she came home from school and wanted to change! She was like a teenager with her grones and her slamming the door over and over! I tried so hard not to laugh. Anyway, we love that she is so determined even though it is so difficult at times! Silly Sadie!!!

Tickle Tickle!

So I don't really have a picture for this story, but I'll post one of Lucy anyway, for a fun visual! But I had to share this story because it makes me smile! About 2 weeks ago, Lucy and I were running errands. We were driving in the car and I hear her say "kicko, kicko, kicko" in her cute little voice, then just totally start laughing. Then she did it again. I looked back and she has her pant leg pulled up and she is totally tickling her leg! She just kept doing it over and over and just cracking up! Then she would get all excited when she knew she was ABOUT to tickle herself, like how you atticipate it and it makes you laugh! Anyway, she has been doing this since then quite often in the car and I just LOVE it! I hate that I have to drive and keep my eyes on the road because I just want to watch her! She is SO cute!! I LOVE ALL the joy she brings into our lives! She is such a bundle of fun! Oh, and today, we were at Costco and some guy was demonstrating a blender that I REALLY want and seriously, SHE was his best audience of the day! She would "Ooooohh" and "Aaaawww" over EVERYTHING he did! It was hilarious! She really was excited about it! Maybe she can convince Daddy how cool it was!!! Well, we just love her so much and are SO glad to have her in our lives! We love LUCY!!!

Beauty School Drop Out!

Wow! What Beauties! I was watching my friends kids last week and while I went to change the laundry Sadie went and got my makeup and turned the play room into a salon! The girls attempted to make themselves even more beautiful! I was just saying a few days before that I am not very good at arriving on a "scene" and thinking to take a picture. Rather my mind goes straight to, lets clean it and everyone up! But I caught myself and told them to keep playing while I got my camera! I did make it fast though! All in all, they had a good time!

This is our little friend Ellie. I must admit, she's got quite the potential in the makeup career!

Lucy's future as a beautician...not so much! But hey! She still looks gorgeous!! Without a mirror, that's probably as good as I would do!

It's a First!

It happened today! Our first experience with "stitches" but they ended up using the glue instead! (Thank goodness!) Here's the story...we were at the park for playgroup. Lucy had walked from the tables we were sitting at for lunch over to the playground. I looked to see how she was doing and I caught her at the beginning of her breakdown (the kind where they aren't making noise yet and you are just thinking, "Okay breath!" I went over and picked her up and notice her chin was dripping blood! A friend got me some wipes and we all realized how deep it was so we decided I needed to take her in. Sadie started throwing a fit about leaving so my friend Lyndsee graciously said she would take care of her and told me to just leave. That turned out to be such a blessing! Thanks Lyndsee! I went to a little quickcare that was close by but they said they don't do that stuff, so they told me of an urgent care close by. I went there, waited and then saw the Doctor. He confirmed that she needed stitches but said he would feel better if I took her to the ER because they are better staffed for stitches. So I left and went to the emergency. We waited forever of course but she was SURPRISINGLY being so silly and having so much fun running around the waiting room. (she even caused the wound to start bleeding again a couple times! She was making me nervous!) Anyway, we had some numbing stuff taped to her chin...she didn't like it so Mommy got one too! That way if she was curious, she could touch mine rather than pulling hers off. (Except mine didn't have the meds on it!) Luckily there was a sink in the room so that kept her occupied most of the time, that and my iPOD listening to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Backyardigans and dancing. Anyway, the Dr. then applied the glue and we were done. She is doing extremely well...Mommy and Daddy are having a harder time with it! So I think what happened was she tripped and whacked her chin on one of the steps, because a friend went to feel if there was anything sharp and she couldn't find anything. So I think it just split it from the impact. It is so sad and purple now! Poor thing. Sadie had dance today, so Lyndsee found clothes and shoes for her and Lucy and I met them there. It was a long day! Lucy did not sleep a wink! Crazy girl. After dance I took the girls to McDonalds for a happy meal and to play and then got an ice cream. We needed a little fun time. Than it was home and a bath and bed! When I was getting the girls out of the car I was holding Sadie and then getting Lucy out and Sadie said, "I don't want her chin to touch me." all disgusted! Chris asked if Sadie was being sweet about it to Lucy, so I told him that story! It was funny. Anyway, that was our drama today! So sad!! Poor little Lucy!

Fire Station!

Okay, look at me! I am actually getting caught up since our trip! We went to the Fire Station for playgroup right after we got back from California and I have been so excited to post these pictures because how stinkin' fun is that to go to the fire station...and who doesn't love a fireman! Ü The girls had a such a good time and they still talk about it everytime we drive past the station!

The girls by the fire men gear! I love these pictures because Lucy always stands with her arms behind her back like this. If she is waiting for you to fill up her sippy, she waits with her arms behind her back, or if she's just hanging out, she puts her arms behind her back! It is too funny!

So coolest thing ever, the kids got to turn the fire hose on and hold it! They each got a turn turning it on and off and holding it! It was way exciting! Except at first! This was their reaction when they busted it out and said who wants to do it! Sadie was excited to do it after a second. (and after Lyndsee showed the kids it was fun!)

Halloween Pictures

Okay, these were so difficult to get! The girls were not cooperating so I gave up. I tried bribeing them and everything! Sadie even put her hand on my shoulder while I was trying to get Lucy's and says "are you sweatie Mommy?" YES!!!!!

Here are some pictures from our Halloween party! I didn't get too many pictures because I was busy doing other things! I tried to get a few of the different ones but I missed so much! There were seriously SO many kids on our trampoline! It was hilarious!

Lucy had so much fun with the Bobbing for Apples bucket! She would take an apple out, bite it and throw it back in with a big splash! Then get another one and do the same! She was loving it!

Trick or Treat!

So here are our Halloween pictures. I have more but I thought I would start off with these, so you can get a taste of our fun! We headed out trick or treating a little early so we wouldn't have cranky kids! So we hit a few houses of people that we knew with the girls. Then we came home and Sadie helped Daddy hand out candy while I got Lucy bathed (very needed! after the day that we had!) and in bed! Then Sadie hopped on her bike (you would think it was a good idea, but no! people who were walking with little little ones would pass us because of Sadie going up and down the drive ways and changing her mind on directions and then deciding whether or not to walk the bike up and/or down the driveway that is too much of a hill and having to get off and walk her bike all the way to the door!) and I took her out trick or treating a little more! We had lots of fun and she got LOTS of candy! She got a little scared of anyone wearing a mask. There was a person dressed up as the Burger King man (Tricia!) and she did NOT like it! She kept talking about it today even. After all the sugar, she surprisingly went to bed at around 10! She has pulled a couple of late nights lately. Oh, I forgot to mention, for our second trip of trick or treating Sadie did not want to wear her costume anymore! So she got her clothes back on but by the way she dressed herself I figured people might actually think it was a costume! So whatever! We had a fun night! It is fun that Sadie is really getting the idea of holidays! FUN FUN! We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! Oh, Chris and I had really last minute costumes (if you can't tell) We figured we would be pirates by throwing on the hats from Shane's party and there we go!
