11 Months

This "little" girl is such a cutie! She is all smiles and full of personality! She has been sleeping so much lately which means she is only going to get bigger! I love that she has a voice and knows how to use it! She knows she needs to be loud to be heard in this family! Girls are so loud! :)
Daphne is so sweet! She loves to cuddle with her blanket! She wraps it around her index finger and then puts it up to her nose to smell it. It's kind of her soothing thing. But then she will put it like that up to my nose too! It is so sweet! I love it! She is so loving and gentle! I love her to pieces!

A 1 year old!

Look at this big girl!!! What happened to my baby!?! So tired and so cute!
We were in Ventura on her actual birthday so we had to get donuts for breakfast. Poor little Daphne had to mangle her birthday donut in order to eat it! She pinched it in between her gloves and her little thumbs. It was so cute. She had to paw things to get them. She held her donut up with both "paws" and took cute little bites! She is so sweet! Just as she is getting used to feeding herself, she gets thrown a challenge! But she took it head on! :)
I was so nervous that she wouldn't have her bandages off for her first birthday cake! You HAVE to have a cake that they can dig into! Thankfully she got them off before her party!! Sweet little Birthday Girl!
She got scared from everyone singing! Are we that bad!?!
Not a great picture but you can see one of her hands all better! Just a little red still but has new skin over it! We just had to keep them really moisturized.

It took her a few tries to get into it but once she did she really enjoyed it. She is the first of our girls to REALLY get into it and enjoy it!
Showing everyone how cool it is!!The damage!

Sadie is so funny! Once Daphne was done, she didn't want a nice pretty piece of cake, she wanted to dig in like Daphne on the leftovers. Silly girl!Having fun with balloons!
It was so fun to actually have family here to celebrate her birthday!! We are used to that and we loved it! Happy Birthday sweet Daphne! We are so glad you are a part of our family! All 30 pounds of you! Yes, 30 pounds at 1! We love our Chunky Monkey!!!

Tragic!

Approximately 1 week after we moved into our new place here in Las Vegas we were out front playing and riding bikes...the usual playing outside with neighbor friends. It was a gorgeous day, high of 72 degrees. I was pulling some weeds to be a little productive while I watched the girls play. Daphne was crawling around in the grass. She started crawling up the steps to the front porch. I needed to go throw the weeds away so I made sure she cleared the steps and wouldn't fall back. I quickly threw the weeds away in the trash can in the garage (10 feet away) and heard Daphne scream. I ran to her and saw her frozen with her hands on the door. I felt the door and it was kind of hot. (Once again, the high was 72 degrees that day) The sun was setting so it was shining on the door apparently making it hot! Who would have known!
I took her inside ran cool water on them, tried to have her hold a semi-thawed bag of frozen corn (we had just gone to Costco to get stocked up in our new place). She had nothing to do with any of it. She just kept wiping her hands down the front of her. Kind of like she was trying to push her own hands away! So sad! She hadn't really gotten a good nap that day because of the Costco run, so she was tired. I figured I would just get her ready for bed, feed her a bottle since it is something cold she could hold too. She drank it and was kind of okay. I tried to lay her down thinking she could just go to sleep and get past the pain, but she was NOT settling down. You could tell she was in pain! Her hands looked red with maybe a few little white-ish spots that might progress into a blister but not really from what I could tell. Mostly they were red. I didn't know if I was over reacting or not enough!
I called a friend who is a fire fighter and he suggested I should take her in. As I started to load her in the car he called back and said he has a friend at the local station by the house that was on duty and could come take a look and see what he thinks. SO nice! So I started to take her back in the house. As I was doing so, I look down the street and here comes a full on fire truck! Out jumps 4 firemen! I was so embarrassed! Remember we JUST moved in! Although the neighbor kids LOVED it!! :) We went inside and they took a look at her hands. They were so helpful and even looked on line for me to find directions and called to get info! Chris came home to a firetruck outside and a bunch of firemen inside the house! Ahhh!
We were so glad that friends and family could jump in and take the girls while we took Daphne to the ER. We took her in and she was SO good and SO sweet! The ER they recommended has a Burn Unit so after we talked to the Dr. we went down there, which was so nice. They gave her medicine and told us to come back the next day. Her skin was still too thick to do anything. The next morning this is how the one hand (which is the worst) looked. It was really swollen and a total blister. It covered a large portion of the palm. It made me cringe because she is crawling all over with her hands! She isn't walking yet, so her hands are like her feet! She seemed totally fine about it too. Although she was medicated! But it still gave me the willies! So we went back to the Burn Unit, thinking they would just check it out and okay us to be on our way. BOY WAS I WRONG! This was when they had to open them, drain them, and clean them! I was all by myself with the 3 kids too! It was NOT fun! Don't look at the next picture if you have a weak stomach. Here is the same hand once it was cleaned.Ugh, it still makes me cringe! My poor baby girl! All the nurses and Doctors could not believe she did that on the front door. They thought the info was filled out wrong and that it was the OVEN door! CRAZY!!! She got all bandaged up and looked so cute! She was so happy and ready to go with her little boxing gloves on!We were "lucky" and got to come back every day for them to change her bandages and clean her wounds. It was a nightmare and always took at least an hour just to get back to the room, even with an appointment!
It was amazing to see it everyday and how quickly it healed! You could see the white shiny new skin growing over the red sores. So crazy! I had to get "clearance" to do the bandage changing myself as we already had a trip to Ventura planned. Grandma was my helper every day to get Daphne all taken care of. Thanks Grandma Stewie. It wasn't fun but we did it! Luckily within a week she was all better and didn't even need bandages on them anymore! She is such a trooper! She was so cute in her little boxing gloves with her little thumb poking out! She got quite talented feeding herself and everything! I love this baby girl!
Love this picture (taken a few days before she got hurt) one of the girls must have taken it on my phone without me knowing. I love these cuddle times with my girl! She is so cute and so sweet! I am just so glad she is all better

Easter Dresses

Cute little girlies all dressed up for Church. The sun was bright and so we got squinty eyes, but we were late for church...what else is new!Lucy actually hamming it up for the camera!
Poor Sadie looks like she is in pain holding Daphne! She definitely is a heavy girl! :)They are so fun and cute!

Bellagio

My favorite Casino has always been Bellagio! They build new and better ones but I just always love the Bellagio! Love the ease of the parking garage, love the gardens, the glass poppies, and of course, the fountains! We have been excited to take the girls here ever since the fountains were "featured" on the Disney movie Bolt! So one weekend when Tricia and Damon were out of town we wanted something fun to do so we took the kids to the Bellagio. The gardens had a "garden" theme with bugs and butterflies and frogs and buckets. It was really cute! It is always amazingly done! Absolutely gorgeous and smells delicious! :)
I love this look on Lucy. She is such a cute little face. She didn't know I was going to take her picture, just called her name and she turned to me. She is so funny! She has been in a "not wanting to take picture" mood lately. She gets grouchy about it! Little stinker!Sadie is always willing to take a picture! :) So cute! I wasn't really planning well and didn't get them looking too cute. I guess with 5 kids that is a lost cause!
The cool frog and mushrooms! (Lucy was done with pictures!)Can I just tell you how excited the girls were to go through the "circle door!" I guess they have seen them on movies and never really been through one! It was SO funny! They wanted their picture in front of it even! Well, mostly Sadie! Poor Chris had to push the stroller through it! And to make it worse we didn't realize that the wheels were in the lock position so the wheels didn't swivel! Haha! It wasn't fun! :)
We were off to the fountains! We got the best "seats" in the house! Front and center and all by ourselves! I am sure people saw our little bay filled with a million little kids and moved on to the next one! Fine by us! :) Sadie, my little posing girl!Looking in the water waiting for the show to start!
Crazy Daddy and Mommy! (at least I am sure that is what people were thinking!)

Trevor and Lucy found the perfect spot!Everyone loved it and had lots of fun!Who is this big girl!?! She is so stinking cute! This was the first time I did a pony tail in her hair! And a bow too! So fun! It was a fun day! And no one even got lost or anything! haha

10 Months

Daphne seemed to grow so much this month! Since she FINALLY started moving, she is loving her new found freedom. She loves getting into everything! She loves looking through movies, getting remotes and following and messing up whatever the big kids are doing! :)
She is getting new teeth like crazy! Sadie and Lucy still get excited whenever they see her teeth. It is so funny! Her big sisters really do adore her!! Sadie and Daphne have such a special bond. They have so much fun together!!
As I was taking these pictures Daphne pulled herself up for the FIRST time! So glad to have my camera in my hands all ready to go! We were so excited! What a big girl!! It takes a lot of work to get those chunks up!! :)
She is growing up so fast! Where did our baby go!?! We all love every minute with her! She is such a good baby! Full of laughs and smiles and sleeps a lot!! :)

A new school

Coming to a new school half way through the year is scary. Sadie was so brave! I was so proud of her! We arrived in Las Vegas on Saturday, got moved in and then she went right to school on Monday! She didn't even skip a beat! We even had to go to Target to buy some uniform colored clothes since her school does uniforms. Dang, I just bought new winter clothes for school that don't work anymore. :-PShe started at Steven Schorr Elementary school. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Stemp. She is amazing! We were SO happy to be in the same class as her cousin Shane! What a cool and fun thing for them. They are even at the same table! Sadie thinks it is so cool that her Aunt Tricia works at the school! She gets to go with her in the morning and be with her in her room until it is time to start. Then after school she and Shane go to Aunt Tricia's office too. Special treatment!!!
It's a new adventure and she is handling it like a real trooper!! Here she is lining up on her first day with new friends. So nervous and so cute!
