Watch out Martha!

We made lasagna last night and we had so much fun! The girls loved piling on all the different layers. They loved squishing the lasagna noodle into all the layers and of course they LOVED "sprinkling" the cheese! Lucy's idea of sprinkling was to chuck the cheese! It was SUCH a mess but they had so much fun! They loved eatting it too! I swear they ate more of the lasagna before it was cooked than they actually did once we cooked it and were having dinner. Silly girls! I thought I would share our "beautiful" creation. Good thing it was just for our family because there were many little fingers that picked through it. The lasagna turned out really good! Thanks to Tricia...I used your recipe in that elementary school cook book and then I used the Garlic, Garlic from your Tastefully Simple party. Delicious!
Sadie wanted to take pictures of the lasagna too and then wanted to take pictures of eachother. So I took this of her.
And since there are never pictures of me...here is what she took of me. It was so funny because she told me how to smile (making my eyes a little wider) she kept saying, "go like this" and her face was behind the camera so I couldn't really see. Then she told me to tilt my head to the side, so I did and then she told me to tilt it to the other side, so I did. Then she told me to just keep tilting it back and forth! Finally she took it after about 6 tilts on both sides. It was hilarious!

Happy Birthday Sweet LuLu!

I have to admit, I totally started crying as I gave Lucy her last 2 year old birthday kisses as I was putting her to bed! I am just so honored that I get to be her Mommy! She is so much fun and so sweet and loving. I love how she gives me the biggest, tightest hugs for no reason at all! I love how easily she gets excited over the littlest reason! Her sweet/crazy smile! I love how she backs up into Mommy or Daddy's lap and just plops down without even looking and wants us to read her a book. I love how much she loves and admires her big sister Sadie. Our family would not be complete without our sweet little Lucy! I cannot believe she is 2 years old! Time sure has gone by so fast. I know it won't be long until Daddy is fighting off all her little boyfriends! And her and Sadie are sharing clothes and make-up tips! I am excited for the many more fun memories we have to look forward to! Come down memory lane with me...I had fun looking at all our pictures of our sweet girl and the fun times we have shared. Here are some of the fun memories of Lucy's Birthdays!

On the way home from the hospital.

Her newborn photoshoot...she was so difficult to take pictures of!

Her first Birthday:

Awww, Averee and Lucy! They are such big girls! It is so cute to seem them really enjoy eachother's company now! They really have a BLAST together! They are crazy yet so sweet!

And since I already posted pictures of her party, here are some from today. We went to an indoor play place called Radijazz with some friends. They had such a fun time! We went home for naps. Then off to dance for Sadie. And of course to Burger King after dance for dinner and to play and then feed the goats our left over nuggets and fries! We had such a fun day. Lucy has loved singing Happy Birthday! She kept singing it to Chris though and pointing to him when we sang "happy birthday to YOU" She is so cute!

I kept throwing her into the "lava" of the "volcano" and she would giggle and then reach for me and say "again!" So by the time I threw her and then got my camera, she would be at the "again!" stage!

I am surprised she is smiling on the canoe...she fell head first into it two times and could not get out! It was so sad! At least it is padded.

Thank you Lucy for giving us so many reasons to celebrate! We all love you completely! Happy Birthday LuLu! We love you!

In My Room

I love the idea of capturing your kids in their room. Them in their surroundings. This isn't totally that, I got one with Lucy IN it, but would like to get more. I needed to take pictures of her room for my sister so I got these. But I love documenting it. Wouldn't you love to have detailed pictures of your room as a baby!?! I still need to take some of Sadie's room...freak I need to put those crazy bubbles in history! I don't want THOSE forgotten! But in Sadie's room there are Strawberry Shortcake pictures that my sister and I had up in our room! It would be so fun to be able to show her a picture of them in my room! I guess since it is Lucy's birthday, my focus is on her! So here is Lucy and some pictures of her room!

Grown up Girls

Okay, this picture is thanks to my friend Lyndsee THANK YOU LYNDSEE - this is one of those classic pictures that you use to bribe your teens! (sorry CP friends who have already seen this but I had to share!) Sadie was playing at Evka's house after school on Tuesday. They were playing in the closet, which is not unusual, but they were being really quiet...so Lyndsee went to check on them and this is what she found:
They were their bras if you could not tell! What silly girls! They left them on all day! Sadie was so proud to show me too! It was too funny! They have so much fun together! We are so lucky to have such fun friends!

Lucy's big Premiere!

Today was Lucy's 2nd Birthday Party. Since she is such a movie buff we had a Movie Premiere theme! It turned out to be a lot of fun! When everyone came in they got to get their "Swag" and then the parents got their VIP pass to escort their "star." They walked down the red carpet and onto the Walk of Fame and found their name! Here are some of the stars that came to Lucy's party. We had fun visiting and playing a few games. One of them was pass the trophy. If the music stopped while you were holding the trophy then you got a prize (so everyone got a prize!). Here's Lucy excited about getting the trophy=sucker!
You know the song, "It's my Party and I'll cry if I want to?" Well Lucy has NEVER heard of it! She was having a blast! I made a CD of different movie songs and had it playing in the background and she was having so much fun dancing around while everyone was still sitting in the circle from the games...she was totally showing off! Funny girl! Here she is in action! Lucy's was most excited about Bekah (our babysitter) coming! When Bekah got here Lucy just squealed and followed her around saying her name and announcing to Daddy and everyone that Bekah was here! Too cute! After games we had popcorn and watched a "movie." I got that Disney/Pixar Short CD with all their different shorts on there for Lucy. So we watched one of them which is like 5 minutes long - it was perfect!
Then we had nachos for Lunch (Lucy's favorite). Look at that smile! Cheesin' it!

Then we did the pinata. It was so funny because it took SO long for the kids to get all the candy! It was really cute!
But then there was Sadie...the only big girl!
Since I totally spaced getting Lucy a cake, we had a giant snickers ice cream bar for her cake. We figured it matched the Movie theme. She blew the candles out all by herself! We were so proud! Look at those cheeks!

We had such a fun day! After the party was over and I was cleaning and Chris resting (he has been sick and he was SUCH a help during the party), the girls were out back and it was so quiet so I went to check on them. They weren't on the swing set, not on the trampoline so I started to walk down the steps of the deck and there they were sitting on the bottom step just having a little snack! They looked so sweet so I quietly ran and got my camera and what do you know, I made it back in time and quiet enough that they didn't hear me and I got the shot! Woohoo!

You know, I thought Sadie might have a hard time with all the attention focused on Lucy but she did really well. She was really excited about the whole party thing! Although she did have a hard time not opening Lucy's presents, but hey, what kid doesn't!?! We are just all so thankful that Lucy is in our family! I could not imagine life without her sweet little face! She is SUCH a joy and is so happy and loving! It's funny to look back and remember the night before I had Lucy. I was so worried about being able to love BOTH girls adequately and couldn't imagine loving someone else as much as we did Sadie. But now I could not imagine not being together! It is so special to see that we each bring something to the family! I am just so thankful for what Lucy brings...Joy and Love! We love you Lucy Jean!

Little Twinkle Toes

Everytime we take Sadie to Dance, Lucy is just dying to go in! She hear's the songs and gets excited as we are waiting in the lobby. Since Lucy will be 2 next week, yes I know!, we decided to sign her up for dance. Her friend Averee signed up too! So we have been so excited. Tuesday was her first day. She was having so much fun when we got there. My friend Lyndsee teaches there and so she was setting up the room for one of her classes and the girls went right in to play and dance around. Then it was time to line up! They were familiar with this from their big sisters doing it! Lucy always waits with her arms behind her back! I LOVE it! She'll hand me something to open for her and then wait looking up at me with her arms behind her back! Too cute!
Once they went inside and shut the doors...Lucy went down hill! She cried and cried and cried! If her teacher wasn't holding her, she would cry. Everytime she tried to set Lucy down she just reached up for her and cried. There were maybe two times when she was okay and realized Averee was in there too. I noticed the first thing Lucy said to Averee was, "Mommy?" So funny! Anyway, she seemed excited about it afterwards so we will keep trying. I think she will be okay with it after she gets the routine of it down. We are so glad she has such a great teacher Mrs. Colleen! She was so sweet to Lucy! I felt so bad for her but she didn't mind at all! What a sweetheart!

Moments Like This!

...are what we live for right!?! You know, Sadie has always been a constant go-er! She is constantly doing something and has a very short attention span. This weekend I got out stickers, glue, scissors, paper, markers...everything for her to help me make thank you cards. Seriously, it lasted 10 minutes! So now we have to spend more time gathering materials and then cleaning them up than we actually spend using them! She hardly EVER lets herself slow down enough to realize how tired she is. But when she does...this is what we get...and boy, do we LOVE it! What a sweetheart!
