Thankful for FUN

We had a fun and casual Thanksgiving together as a family. We started off with getting a Slurpee and chips and then went to the park. We had a fun time playing around together. We even brought Missy! The girls love when we bring her! We came home, had some lunch and then some of us rested while others cooked. :) I got our pies at Costco which was wonderful to have to not make those...and they are so delicious. It was nice to just be us...we didn't have to make everything fancy. Here is our non-fancy Thanksgiving! Notice all the bowls of fruit by the girls (read down further). And Sadie doing the Texas Longhorns "Hook'em Horns" sign. What a true Texan! :) Lucy finally figured out how to do it at dinner! She was SO proud. Except she says, "Rock On!" when she does it! :)The girls loved to get out their Thanksgiving trivets that we made last year. They are so cute and they we so excited about each having one. Sadie's one request for dinner: FRUIT! She LOVES fruit. So we got lots of different fruits and the girls washed them and cute the "grass" off the tops of the strawberries all by themselves. They are such big helpers! The day before we made a rice krispie Turkey. Then we cut out different color feathers and wrote every one's name on one. So during dinner we took turns drawing a feather and then we each went around the table and said a reason why we are thankful for the person/dog. It was fun. So here are the results.

Missy
Daddy said: I love that she cuddles with me and keeps my feet warm.
Mommy said: I love that she eats crumbs off the floor.
Sadie said: I love when she goes to the park with us.
Lucy said: I like to pet her.

Sadie
Daddy said: Sadie is such a good helper and always helps me run errands when Lucy naps.
Mommy said: Sadie is always so much fun and makes me laugh. She is such a good example.
(Sadie wanted to say one for herself): She is glad she gets to go swimming with Grandma.
Lucy said: She loves that they get to play together

Lucy
Daddy said: I love that Lucy is so funny and silly. She always makes me laugh.
Mommy said: I love that Lucy is so happy and easy going.
Sadie said: I love to get to play in the rain with Lucy.

Mommy
Daddy said: I love that she takes care of my girls and that she makes such cute babies.
Sadie said: I love that she goes swimming with us.
Lucy said: (she was too focused on playing with her food at this point) :)

Daddy
Mommy said: I love that he always makes me smile and he works so hard always.
Sadie said: I love that Daddy takes us to the park.
Lucy said: He dances fun with us.

It was fun and funny to hear what they said. After a long day, we all went to bed. The girls were pooped and so were we! I ended up going to bed before 9!! We then woke up this morning to the girls playing in the rain and eating ice cream. What a great holiday! They had so much fun getting SOAKED! Sadie even got a bucket and brought it inside to fill it up with water, then took it outside and dumped it on their heads. It was so cute because I came down stairs and they were both in their rain coats. Those quickly came off, then their clothes and then their panties. They are so silly. Chris had to go into work for a little bit today. So the girls and I went to some stores and shopped a little. Then it was home for nap time. Chris came home and once Lucy woke up we went to see Bolt. We all loved it. We have had a great time just being together.

Looking for car advice?

Do NOT ask Sadie. I have come to realize that she does not (in my opinion) have the best taste in cars. As we were driving home from church on Sunday we drove by this house that seriously always has at least 3 huge monster type trucks. I am not being dramatic, these trucks and SUV's have HUGE lift kits on them and HUGE tires. They are the type that when you see driving you are just like, "What the? What are they thinking!?!" Anyway, so Sadie finally noticed them on Sunday and she thought they were fantastic! She said, "I want a car like that. Except I want it to be red!" Chris and I just laughed. Her response was, "It's not funny! I want one with big tires!" Then she went on to say, "We could get all our toys out of this car and take it to a new one like that!" Maybe when she is older! :)
Then today as we were coming out of Costco, she saw someone loading up stuff in their van...one of those old ugly conversion vans that have the extended ceilings and full on La-z-boy's for chairs. And she says, "Cool, that's a NICE car!" It even had pinstripes all along the sides!!
I just thought it was funny that she just has NO idea about cars. What a typical girl. I just love her to pieces.
PS - Old picture, I know but one of her driving a car! :)

Twlight Baby!!

Some friends and I were gutsy and went to the midnight showing of Twilight on Thursday night. It was SO fun! We got there an hour early, and they had already let everyone in the theater. We had to sit on the THIRD row! But it was so worth it. I personally LOVED it! Chris was so jealous that I got to go see it; but we are seeing it together tomorrow. I am excited to see it again. This time I can soak it all in more, rather than being so excited. I even won a t-shirt (not twilight - dumb!) and 2 free movie tickets because I answered a trivia question before the show started! (How many people auditioned for the part of Edward? - 5,000!) I just saw that on a clip on yahoo from Good Morning America or something! Us girls had so much fun! We were so antsy to get there! We were there with a bunch of teenage girls. At first I thought I was going to beat some people up with all the stupid screaming! But they did stop, for the most part, for the movie! It was funny because we all waited till the last minute to go potty, and you walk into the bathroom it was all older women! So funny! All us old ladies with weak bladders (or cramped bladders from babies - 3 of us are pregnant).
Here we all are: Sheila, Me, Melissa, Lyndsee, Rachel, Heather and Lexie. Where's Edward!?!

Sheila, Me, Melissa, Lyndsee.
Rachel, Heather, and Lexie
Anyway, it was a blast! Even though I only got 3 and a half hours of sleep! SO worth it! Thanks ladies for being adventurous and crazy and making it such a fun night!

Fire Station

Sadie went on her first Field Trip last Thursday. I was so glad that I could go with her. It was so much fun and the kids had a great time. They started off with their snack since they wouldn't get back until almost lunch. Then we were able to just walk to the fire station. There is an elementary school across the street that we crossed through the field of. Then went through a gate and there was the fire station. Quite nice and convenient. Sadie's class and the other class her age group went together. Each class brought the fire men some brownies, which I guess is there favorite. The fire men greeted us outside and then brought us in to watch a short movie on fire safety. Then one of the fire men put on their entire get-up to show the kids what he would look like and sound like with all that stuff on so if they were ever in a fire and a fire men had to rescue them, they wouldn't be scared. It was really cute. They really stressed that fact and to not hide. I had never thought of that but I can totally see how that would be scary in the dark with all the smoke around and then this oxygen tank breathing guy comes to get you. So I thought that was really cute. Once he was all in his gear he let them come up and touch him to see for themselves. Then they gave us a tour of the fire station. They got to sit in their rooms - which Sadie started jumping on the bed, crazy! - and then they sounded the alarm to hear what they hear when they have to get up for a fire (except they didn't do the loud alarm so the kids wouldn't get scared, just a beep and then an announcement of the fire and another beep) Then we went out to see the fire truck.
What is up with this face. It makes me laugh. She's been doing this in some pictures lately. I don't know what it is but it is silly.
This is Sadie's friend Megan. Look how stinkin cute! She would not let go of his leg!
Her class!
They showed them around the truck and then the kids got to go in it. They pulled the truck out and turned on the sirens. All the kids were covering their ears except Sadie. I guess she is used to it being loud and crazy! :) Then we walked back to school. It was so fun to see Sadie in her cute little school environment. She is such a big girl! I am glad that I got to share that time with her. We had fun together. Here's to many more fun field trips!

Silly Girls!

These two have been so silly lately! After bath, they run and squeal and are so silly! I LOVE that they have so much fun together! They remind me of me and my sisters growing up. They love to play Barbies together, dress up, play house, play school. They are just so fun! They always find ways to make me laugh!

Sadie makes me smile:

When she makes silly faces! She loves being silly and trying to get other people to laugh.

She is so random! All of the sudden she says she wants a power ranger for Christmas...we have never even seen or talked about power rangers so I don't know where this comes from.

She is so sweet. The other day we were watching some show, I can't remember what, and it was a really sweet/happy moment. Sadie says to me, "Mommy, why do I have tears in my eyes?" Chris and I just looked at each other and totally smiled! She has always been so in tune with others emotions, so caring. I love her!

She is so curious! I thought the whole question stage of kids would drive me crazy, but I LOVE it! Everything is so new and interesting to them and I love being a part of that! Sadie is always asking how things work, why they do what they do, etc. I love that she wants to know.

After I got my last ultra sound Sadie was looking at it as I was showing her where everything was and she said, "Why is it a guinea pig?" Ha Ha Ha! I guess it does look like a guinea pig! Chris and I could not stop laughing!

I recently got the girls one of those cheap hardcover Books of Mormon and Sadie has to carry hers EVERYWHERE!! She brings it to the gym, to dance, to the store, to pre-school. She LOVES it. Sadie, let Lucy carry it for a while when we were at the store and Lucy cuddled it, like Sadie, and acted like it was so precious and she was just too special! They are so funny!

Along with her Book of Mormon, she has to bring EVERYTHING with her EVERYWHERE! She will say, "Okay Mom, I am ready to go." and she will have SO much stuff in her arms! The other day we were leaving to go somewhere and she had 3 purses full of stuff, plus her Book of Mormon, a baby doll AND a stuffed animal! My goodness! I told her she could bring one thing, and I will let you guess what that one thing ended up being...yep, her Book of Mormon!

Lucy makes me smile:

She likes to stick out her tongue and bum and do silly dances and make silly faces!

She knows how to joke with you! She will say, "Iss not silly!" When she knows it is. I love it!

She knows every line of every movie. She is always quoting lines from movies or saying them as they are happening or even a little before they happen. I LOVE it! She'll tell me what different characters say, like Bambi "Pretty Flower!" and Flounder saying, "This is this, and that is that" (when he's talking about Scuttle rambling and he says it with is tongue out - so of course she does too).

She is so independent. She will be quietly playing, and I think she is making a mess, but she hardly ever is. She will just be reading books or playing out on the swings or upstairs watching a movie. I love that she can entertain herself and be so content.

She loves to be "tricky." She is always saying, "Look Mom!" or "Look Dad!" "I being tricky!" Even though she is only lifting up her leg or leaning over the back of the couch! I love it and love that she is so proud!

Whenever she is running from one place to the next, she says, "I busy!" She is so cute!

Whenever she asks me to open something for her she shows me HOW to open it saying, "Like this" and scrunches up her face while she is demonstrating it!

Sadie being random once again, how does she know to do peace signs in pictures! We haven't even been to Disneyland yet! :)
There are just so many ways these precious girls brighten our days! I love their random hugs to us and to each other! I love that they know how to show love and that they know it is great to be loving to each other! I know that they will always be the best of friends! There is nothing like a sister! Thank you sweet girls for always making us smile and bringing so much joy into our lives! You will always be our baby girls!

16 Weeks

As requested by Tricia! She keeps asking if I am showing, so I told her I would take a picture. Seriously, why is it that the more kids you have the faster you start to show! I seriously busted my maternity pants out at like 10 weeks! So here is me and my belly! So I am bummed because I had my last appointment a couple weeks ago. I had been going every 2 weeks to check up on the baby after we almost miscarried. Because I had been going every two weeks, it totally messed up my appointments and so now my next appointment is at 18 weeks and then the next is at 22 weeks! So I won't be able to find out the sex of the Baby until I am 22 weeks! Bummer! But I guess it will for sure be developed by then! I am just so impatient! I have been feeling pretty good. I have this sharp pain in my lower back that has been making me feel like I am huge and pregnant because it makes me walk funny sometimes. It hurts! I'll have to go get it adjusted. But I am so glad that I hardly feel sick anymore! WooHoo!!! Only 24 more weeks to go! :o)

What Team!?!

WILD CATS!

Chris and I took the girls to see High School Musical 3 on Saturday! They had been so excited. Our baby sitter went to see it opening night and Sadie was so sad! She said, "Why does Bekah get to see Hannah Montana AND High School Musical!?!" (Because Bekah got to go to Hannah Montana's last concert) So we had told her that we would take her too! They were so excited to get there, hold their tickets and get their treats! We even lucked out with Daddy's favorite seats! But Sadie informed me later that they weren't HER favorite, she wanted to sit down in the non-stadium seats - closer! But Lucy sure did love them, she had fun sitting on the bars and climbing down a million times during the movie to pretend to take MY picture. She would do the sound effects of the camera even! Silly girl! They both LOVED the movie, although we had to take two potty breaks. Sadie said she loved it but it was too long! :) That's because she is not used to sitting that long! When we watch movies at home, she is all over the place! I hate to admit that I almost cried during the movie! But I can blame it on the pregnancy hormones! But seriously, it wasn't even a crying moment in the movie! And yes, Chris and I would look at each other and smile at some of the parts, "I love you wild cat!" but all in all it was great! We loved it and love all the songs! I must say that Lucy absolutely LOVES previews! She is laughing and clapping and commenting on everything during the previews! She is so cute. She loved dancing to all the music in the movie! I love the way she says High School Musical. People were laughing as we were getting our treats and tickets to see such a little girl so excited to see High School Musical! Our little movie buff! We had such a fun time!
