Thanksgiving fun

We had a fun Thanksgiving with Grandpa Bob and Grandma Christy here! The boys watched a lot of football and the girls did a lot of cooking and playing. My Mom made these cute little aprons for the girls and I am wearing one she had sent last year (we all have matchies). The girls loved their aprons! Thanks Grandma Stewie! We were taking a break from all our cooking to enjoy some yummy dips and snacks.

Sadie and Lucy have been LOVING to play the piano and sing (yell) lately. It is so cute and I don't mind the yelling at all! I know that they are having fun together and enjoying eachother! That is good enough for me!

They girls LOVE running and getting Grandpa Bob! They think it is so funny! Even tonight Lucy was up on the tower and she started squeeling about something as she was climbing down, like she got a good idea about something, and she ran and got Grandpa Bob. So cute!

We have had such a great trip with them here. We are sad to have them leave!

Pajama Party!

Since Sadie is so into dresses right now and SO NOT into jammies, Grandma Christy thought it would be a good idea to entice her with a night gown. So we went to the fabric store and we picked out some fun fabrics and Grandma (with a little help from Sadie) made the girls some adorable night "dresses." Sadie helped Grandma by pushing the reverse button! She loved it and tried to push it more often than necessary but Grandma is so skilled, they still came out gorgeous! The girls LOVE them and love dancing around in them. Grandma is even going to make more for Christmas! She knows of a good fabric store at home where she can buy nice silky/stretchy material! We can't wait!

Craft Time

Grandma Christy is always so attentive to the girls! They LOVE to play with her! I don't know how many times I have heard the girls ask Grandma if she wants to play in the kitchen or color, or play soccer...whatever! And Grandma is always so quick to be excited and say YES! The girls LOVE it as do I. We are so lucky to have such sweet Grandparents who have so much love for our girls!

Who turned out the LIGHTS!?!

So Saturday, Grandma Christy and Grandpa Bob came to visit us for Thanksgiving. We came home, had some dinner and about 20 minutes later a storm hit and our power went out! It was out for an hour! It made us realize how unprepared we are! We only had one real flashlight and then we had two winding flashlights but only one would work. I busted out my reflectors and so we bounced the light off of them. I found some candles and lit those. So we had fun doing tricks on the couch and reading books! Finally the power came back on! YEAH!! Then it was time for bed! It was an exciting way to start a week of fun!

Fall Feast

*WARNING* - Picture quality may put you at risk of vaumiting!
I, yes I, forgot my camera! So these are from my cell phone! I was seriously so MAD about not bringing my camera. Anyway, there is always next year! Sadie's school had a fall feast on Tuesday! It was so much fun. I signed up to help out, since Grandma Christy is in town I had someone to watch Lucy! So it worked out nice! It was SO fun to be with her at school! She was loving it! I needed to soak in as much as I could since soon she will be embarrassed when I come help out at school! She was so cuddley! Anyway, all the classes prepared something last week for their fall feast. Then they all gathered in the auditorium and had their feast. Then each age group had learned a little song that they got to sing. Then EVERYONE did the Turkey Tango! It was so cute! This was my first experience with helping out at school and it was kind of humorous. With a bunch of Mom's there to help out, probably too many, every Mom is used to being in control so it was kind of funny to see some of the Mom's looking all stressed if there wasn't really something for them to do at the moment or they weren't doing it their way. Anyway, it was funny. Here are some "pictures" of our fun!

Yee-Hawwww!

I found this little place called "The Little Buckaroo Ranch" that does little field trips for kids. So we went there for playgroup today. It was cute. Not necessarily what I was thinking, but they kids had a blast. We played around on a horse swing and on some log balance beams and then went up to see the animals.

Then we went over to the fish "pond." They taught them to stick their finger in just barely so the fishies would give them fish kisses. Sadie got one but Lucy did NOT! She was a little to excited and would reach in to try and grab them with an excited squeal!!! The fish weren't fans. Then we went and saw some baby chicks that just hatched...which is very unusual for this time of year. They were cute! Here is Peter Cottontail. (Not the original!! ;) but still cute)

Here, they are going on a LITTLE hay ride! They had fun though.Meet Ginger! She was the cutest minature horse. She stood there so perfectly still while all the kids got a chance to brush her. Lucy tried but took one look at the LADY and freaked out! I felt bad because she wanted so badly to touch the horses but they were not aloud to through the fence. Anyway, she didn't get to pet one. Sad.

Then we went and had a little "Texas" snack and then had our very own miniature horse show. That was the best part! The kids LOVED it! The horse ran around and they had to yell "JUMP" when it was time for the horse to jump. They of coursed LOVED YELLING LOUD!! That little horse got going pretty fast! Personally, I was shocked at how fast those little legs could go!They were LOVING it!

Then we finished off the fun with lunch and then we roasted marshmallows!

You know you had a good time when even Lucy falls asleep!

DRAMA!!!!

Okay, so Sadie has turned into a teenager over night! For the past 6 months or so she has been into picking out her own clothes. I understand that kids need to be able to make choices on their own, so as hard as it is for me to let go of that...I let her have that freedom. Anyways, there have been MANY arguments/fits about outfit choices lately. All summer she would only wear tank tops and stretchy shorts. And when I say tank tops I mean cheesie ribbed wife beater looking ones. I would buy cute tank tops for thinking that would work but she never wanted those ones. Her new thing is, if it shows her armpits, it is no good. And then she will raise her arms and stretch her torso up and feel if it shows her tummy! If it does, we change the outfit! Then she noticed that I will layer my shirts so she wanted to wear "undershirts." But lately it has turned into wearing 4 or 5 undershirts!!! And shirts over dresses and none of them matching! I would try to monitor it but also tried to give her her freedom! Which was very embarrassing at times! Then she wants to change her clothes multiple times a day so she would go through SO many shirts in a day! And she refuses to wear pajamas to bed. She has to wear clothes. Then she will wake up and "get dressed" into a new outfit! Anyway, her tantrums about this have been happening more frequently as I have been trying to teach her that that was not how we do it, and yesterday it escalated! And I was done with it! So here are the results! NO CLOTHES in her room except for panties and socks and Jammies (which she hates but now has to wear!). She now gets to choose between 2 outfits and does not get to change during the day! We had a little melt down this morning and then she was okay, but then there was a bigger one this afternoon when she came home from school and wanted to change! She was like a teenager with her grones and her slamming the door over and over! I tried so hard not to laugh. Anyway, we love that she is so determined even though it is so difficult at times! Silly Sadie!!!
